Bali..Bali…

My bali trip went by just like a lighting strike… it was so fast. If you ask me how was the trip.. … it was ok. I didn’t get to do much this time around.. maybe because i was travelling most of the time going from one place to another and all have to be done in 2 days. We went to ubud, tanah lot, kintamani, tampak siring, gwk and few more place which i can’t remember the name anymore. Time spent on travelling.. but i guess that’s what bali is all about at the end of the day.
Shopping was not a great experience for me this time around just because …. i experienced desperate, love to touch you and very aggressive almost…wait…. actually it’s very irritating goods seller.
3 scenarios that i’ve encountered while shopping in Bali:
1- I was in tampak siring ( Pura air suci).. While i was walking.. trying to pass by all the trinkets and souvenirs shop.. out of nowehere a lady grab my hand and try to drag me to her store. I was so shocked! Since when Balinese became like that? I find it so rude. Told her off on the spot. I thought she was a pencuri!
2- same place Tampak siring… we bought 2 item from this particular shop worth 120 thousand rupiah…she was desperate to sell her stuff away to us.. telling us “please buy….help me for morning good luck”.. yea. they love to use that phrase. ” roll the eyes’ so la overused sentence … everywhere you go you will hear the same thing. Anyway, like i said… she was so desperate to sell her stuff till we were FORCED TO BUY another stuff.. she REFUSE to give me back my MONEY!!!! She basically crunch up my change into small ball in her palm when i try to take it away from her!! BLOODY HELL!!! I was already raising my voice telling her DONT FORCE ME TO BUY STUFF THAT I DON”T WANT….she pretended that she did not hear me and turn to looked at Daniel and tell Daniel.. no change..no change..buy another stuff… buy another stuff…She was lucky that daniel initially wanted to get that stuff…. if not i would have made a scene at that shop in the morning. I don’t care if it’s a temple area.. she really tick me off. When Dan told her to pack that stuff…i took it without even saying thank you to her…i was so irritated that i only wish her…bad selling for the day!
3- ubud area- while i was walking in this row of shops trying my best to avoid the rain…. i hear….payung, payung…umbrella, umbrella ..me ignore…. ( sepa la mau beli paung dengan harga 50 ribu rupiah??Just because it was raining ..they hike up the price like mad!)…suddenly… i felt someone touched me like…..emmmm… gatal way…you know… like he just wanna feel me kind a way ? from my shoulder down to my elbow…You know what i mean??? It was not those tap your shoulder kinda gesture?? It did not hit me at first cos i was trying to catch up with Dan who was walking pretty fast ahead of me…till i pass the shop then i realise.. eh..babi..that man just touched me!!! Arggggg…punya la sia marah… tapi mau marah pun susah..because no one sees it except me alone who felt it kan?? i can only say out loud.. do not touch me… i don’t like it!! But it seems like im only talking into the thin air…. sigh.
Dan was recognize as Bulleh in Bali… Bulleh means MAT SALLEH in their local slang. He have to pay RM7 for smallest tube of tootpaste where we can get it here in Kl for rm2.50! COLGATE BRAND BA!!!
I was shocked when i get to know the price….He said.. he speak to them in bahasa…i only can laugh at him.. Bahasa Sabah mana la sama dengan indonesia sayang… loghat dia pun sudah jauh beza…lagi la diorang ingat kau bulleh trying to sound like indonesian…hahahah.
I on the other end… must say thank you to my company for sending me to JKT for 1 month in JUNE. I managed to get away with local price because they thought i was local. ;D this is one of the time..that im proud to be recognize as indonesian…hahahahh.. at kintamani … they charged us 50 thousand rupiah per head for not so great buffet…and the guest next to us was charge 150/180 thousand rupiah per head because diorang tu MAT SALLEH!!! Can you believe that?? How far different they charge their guest??? CUT THROAT i tell you!
My advice to you if you plan to go to Bali…pick up an Indonesian language book and learn as much as you can.. and whenever you go into a shop there.. start with their local dialect first….cos trust me.. if you buka slang KL or Sabah..most likely..your charges will be slightly higher than the local chargers……hmmm…every country has it own price,eh??
The were so many drug pusher in Bali… i don’t know how they can do that..senang senang saja tanya..mau mushroom? Ice? Weed? Like…openly…they approach anyone and everyone… i wonder how many drug rehab do they have in BALI…although..im very sure.. i did not see one at all!!! AMAZING!

Bali is still awesome for me, and this is my THIRD visit there, would highly recommend it to those who haven’t been there, but minimum, at least 5 days 4 nights so it’s not rushing.
Carol & Olie….GO! This place is a kajillion times better than Penang.

And for the same exact reasons, I, a local, don’t like going to Bali. They were snobs when many Bule came before Bali Bombing. Now, they are rude for exactly what happened to you. I prefer Yogya. You should go there. Nice place, nicer people.
