I really enjoy this boat ride. despite me being wet with the unpredictable weather in Krabi

See… exactly what i said.. sekejap sana tu awan jadi hitam.. and bikin takut ar, sebab the wind was soo strong macam ada ribut pula sia rasa kadang kadang.

Me, riding bike on my own. I manage juga.. tapi inda la pi jalan raya.. only at the  hotel parking area. Best pula kan ride motor ni…LOL!LOL!

This was taken on the day we’re leaving Krabi…hahah kesian ba kami .. kepunan matahari Krabi.

Just like the signage i was holding said.. this restaurant serve clean and good food!! Yummy.. tapi jangan harap makanan sini murah sangat….1 beef, vege , tom yam soup (small), 2 steam rice and 2 drinks.. can cost you up to Rm 34-36  but you won’t regret it la.

Ba sia mau surf  and look for tv stands dulu, i think it’s time for me to do so.. get a new tv stand at home

As you all may already know, we spent our weekend at Krabi this time around as our post engagement holiday. It was really fun! I really enjoyed the short weekend trip.

We arrived on Friday afternoon only to be greeted by rainy, cloudy and windy weather. The hotel coordinator told us that the weather has been like that for the past few days and may last till weekend. My heart sank when i heard the news.As soon as we reach the hotel, we waste no time and went out to check Krabi Pranang beach area. Before we stroll down the beach, Dan suggested that we should rent a motorbike to go around town and head we go hunt for motorbike rental place. Five minute walk later.. we found the place. For 200 baht per day (rm20) and we have our own “superbike” to travel in Krabi.

I was kinda nervous at first when Dan start the motorbike, it was my first time riding bike with him and that was his first too after his accident 10 years ago, LOL!! But after a while, we both had fun, laughing and Dan’s making funny sound and comments while riding the bike…ah.. that was quite an experience for me..oh did i mentioned? I also pandai pandai start motorbike and rode for about 200 meter back and forth..heheh that was fun..but i dont think i will do that here in Malaysia. Sini scary la.

Anyway, on the second day weather was still  gloomy and our island trip has to be cancelled due to choppy sea and unpredictable weather. We decided to extend the bike rental and took a trip down to Krabi town about 30 km away from where we stayed. At town, we took a boat to I can’t remember the river name now but it was suppose to bring us to this famous Krabi landmark. Along the way, we stop at one spot where we were allowed to go into a cave..that was scary yet exciting for me.. i never been to a cave before in my whole life..so that was the first (again) for me.

After the cave trip, the boat man took us to canal of mangrove.. i see lots and lots of kayu bakau “menari”. The way the tree intertwined with each other…really look like they were dancing. But the first thing pops in my mind when i saw the mangrove  was the dogs that was thrown at pulau ketam i wonder what happen to those dogs… sigh.. i hope every single of them was rescued now.

After the boat ride, which cost us 300 baht each (rm30 per person for an hour) we were suppose to go and climb this tiger cave with 1200 steps! Yes, you read that right 1200 steps.. but hahahah..someone said..er.. lets cancel that one and just go to gastrpod fossil beach.. and hop we go to that beach..sampai sana…hmm it was kinda dull for us.. so we didnt want to waste another Rm20 per person just to see batu or siput kerang yg sudah bertahun lama di dalam laut and jadi fossils… so we just did bit of shopping and went back home straight to hotel.

All in all.. the trip was really relaxing,fun and enjoyable  despite being disappointed for not being able to go to Phi Phi island and enjoy the white sandy beach as how Leonardo Dicaprio get to enjoy it in his movie called THE BEACH.

Dan and i promise we will come back to Krabi again soon to enjoy the island next round.

For now, i need to check this fat burner out ;P

Can you guess how much does this food and drink cost me in Jakarta? If you have been following my post about Jakarta, im sure you will be able to guess the price…. roughly.

Nothing is cheap when it comes to mall food court and not knowing many places where i can get food that similar to Malaysia food. i don’t have much choice but to have my lunch and dinner at mall food court. I wish i had someone bringing me around though..unfortunately…no one was free..sob sob….

But one thing i love about JKT mall food court is their cleanliness!!! It’s wayyyyyyyyy cleaner than Malaysia mall food court…seriously..even their toilets..OMG!!! I think i can even walk kaki ayam in the loo and not feeling disgusted at all, LOL!! And oh…I love the fresh fruit juice too.. its so pure and yummy! Wish i can find one place here in Malaysia where they serve 100% pure juice…no sugar, no ice and less water…hmmm yummy!! Anyone out there know where i can get this??

Anyway, if you are looking for Outer Banks rentals for your holidays outside of Malaysia, just hit the highlighted “note” . I wish i can go to one of the houses…but ….. it would be awesome if i could rent one of the houses there for my honeymoon or even my wedding venue…;) but hmm..mimpi saja la Mel….LOL!

I forgot what was this one called..i know its not ketoprak for sure ( That’s another food that’s similar as this one)… aiya tua sudah la me.

KFC!! Food that i visit pretty often here, LOL!! They don’t serve it with Coleslaw or mash potato but with nice warm yummy rice I will miss this one, for sure!

Nasi Kuning which i thought it was nasi lemak at first…LOL!!

Kuey Tiaw Goreng Penang! Its so expensive la here..its like Rm9 per plate!

Pecel Ayam… macam nasi ayam tapi ada lain sikit taste dia..i think its because of the sambal.

To do chappati dough is not as challenging as rolling the dough…although making a good chappati you will need the dough texture to be just nice..not too soft and not too hard…but i still think rolling dough is much more challenging than mixing it.

My first attempt rolling “round” chappati was not very successful. I never manage to make it as round as in the mamak shop does..i always ended up rolling some weird shape and once i even manage to roll a Sabah Map, Seriously! But i didn’t manage to snap a picture of that particular “map” cos the hungry boy at home wallop it in no time ( This  is one of his fav food)

Anyway, i’ll show you pictures of my first  attempt making a round chappati..

That’s my another way of trying to make a round chappati…using my hand instead of the roller…LOL! But as you can see..i’m just not making any round chappati…i made some weird chappati shape instead.

and my dough…hahaha..i didnt do well with it too…i kinda made it bit tooo hard or too thin..im not sure cos it turn out to be a crispy chappati instead..LOL!

But after making few rounds of chappati for dinner and breakfast  at home and with some guidance from Dan’s mom…  i finally manage to make a decent round chappati and good dough now..im still not 100% perfect yet with everything..but at least im not making any crazy shape anymore, LOL!  One day, will show you the round shape chappati pictures but for now i need to check the undermount sink, i believe something must have clogged it..cos everytime i wash my dishes..the water doesn’t seems to drain away as fast as before..wonder what’s happening and i wonder if there is a way to clear the “kerongkong” of the sink??? Hmmm

Hah!  So much of my “I wanna be lazy on my birthday plan and talk” wahahhaha..so not! I ended up cleaning the house.. sweeping, mopping, washing all dishes, feed gummi,clean her cage and gave her shower…u know why?? Because of stupid American idol result! I was so irritated and sakit hati that Kris won the title..sometimes i wonder…Orang america ni ada otak ka inda da? Do they choose talent or look? I thought American Idol was talent contest not “beauty contest”…sigh..oh well..Im sure Adam will be a successful singer from today onwards even if he didn’t get to be crowned as American Idol Winner. Yeay to that! Nevertheless, Congrats Kris…wish you all the best and good luck with your new career!

Enough with AI..come back to me. So there’s so much of things has happen since the last day i updated my post. I when for an interview yesterday at Sri Kembangan..not sure if  im gonna get that job or not  but if  i do ..hmmm..i may need to rethink again..LOL!! Basic rendah and the travelling time needed is ridiculously panjang from home to Kembangan its like 45 minutes for me…adeh deh.. pengsan la sia kalau hari hari spend that much time on the road to work and back home and that timing tak masuk traffic jam…imagine if its peak time…arg..i may spent like 2 hours…LOL!

And then in the evening, i volunteered for Harlem Globetrotters event.  Dan’s company needed help and i offered myself to do it, easy job..just usher Datuks and Datins to their sit..and thats about it..the hard part was..to recognize them and then “halau” orang tak faham bahasa…yes… sometimes people can be such a pain in the arse la.tsk tsk tsk..i had so much fun at the event…i laughed so much that my jaw was hurting and same goes to my tummy… they were damn funny and talented!  Will show pictures later.

On Monday, i made a trip to KLIA…No i was not there to fetch anyone or buy ticket to some exotic get away holiday, but i was there for my cousin and my lil niece Brooklyn. They have 3 hours to spare before their flight back to Sdyney..since i do not know when will i see them again.. so i took the chance to go and see them. I only have 1 half hour time together but it is worth every toll money and gas for me. Ya la.. like i said..i do not know bila lagi i can see them..they come back to kk once a year and its not always the same month and date as my travelling plan back to kk…so yea.. and OMG, my niece is such a cutie pie, friendly, talkative ( in baby language) and hahahah…very naughty. She rebut my fruit from my hand and finish it up..yes, my cousin bought few bananas from Kg…sia makan sikit saja..the rest habis my niece makan..hahah..Brook sempat lagi kasih pecah one glass in the airport..she nearly gave her mom a heart attack! I hope i will be bale to see them again soon…like in a years time from now, not 5 or 10 years down the road

Today was my 1st birthday celebration at Dan’s family house ( last year we were out celebrating it). Dan’s mom made me a cheese cake(yummy cheese cake) and Dan’s Step dad cooked me dinner. At least one of my wish today came true heheh..Im so thankful for their nice warm gesture… ya la, im not their daughter ( yet) but they really made an effort for my day..althought its small celebration..but it meant a lot to me. Thank you Auntie and Uncle..and Sumee for being there, celebrating my birthday together. Really appreciate it.

So im a year older ..im officially 28 today …gonna hit the number 3 soon… am i hating it you ask?? NOPE..i dont..i like my age and im waiting for the number 3 to come soon too ( patiently)… Even with number 3 in front..i dont think my life will change a lot…i will only be wiser, richer, prettier and happier!  Im loving my life!

It was a nerve wrecking experience for me yesterday. We decided to do a surprise birthday party for Her and Dan came up with the most craziest never thought idea before… He asked me to cook! I was of cos reluctant at first but i didn’t  say anything about it..i simple nod and say ok…. I was reluctant because i never cooked for anyone else except for Dan and myself… can you imagine all the questions running through my head at 100KMP speed?? (ok, i exaggerate too much but yea… all those questions and doubts keep popping in my head!) What if she doesn’t like my food? What if she said it’s too salty? What if she said ooh the ingredients not enough..should add this and that?? OH MAN.. i was really nervous…. but i accept the challenge without much complaint..LOL!

So Daniel decided that i should cook one of my specialty…Deep fried fish and also steam vege with oyster sauce…so off me when to hypermarket to get all the ingredient including a small birthday cake…

6:30pm i started cooking and finished just right on the dot to give her the surprise…It was just a simple cooking…

All in all..i was happy that i did the cooking…everyone enjoyed the food.. but what matter most was Auntie, im glad that she really enjoyed the food. She even tambah nasi twice which something we don’t normally see at home..yes Dan’s mom is a small eater..She love the fish head the most and “operated” the head to small pieces..LOL! She even said.. next time if our family want to makan Chinese food..we call you to cook for us ok?…LOL!! Pengsan la me… pressure is on! Mau kena pi cari recipe book la ni tau…mau belajar more about Chinese dishes…LOL!!!

I really like what took place yesterday…i cooked for Dan’s family… we all sat at the table together and eat together at the same time ( yes, this is a rare oppurtunity for all of us here… since everyone is living separately and have their own commitment already), We talked about everything and anything, shared a good laughter together and even browsed through Dan’s family old pictures..

It felt like i was back at home again yesterday with my own family members..something that i don’t get to enjoy everyday..but only 7 days out of 365 days in a year….ah…family.

Ok, first and foremost before i start blabbering here..i just want to wish my dearest cousin…  HAPPY WEDDING AND CONGRAULATIONS ONTON!!!  Im so happy for you and of cos… i wish i was there to celebrate your big day…looking at all the pic that Benny took ( ALAWAAAAA tu pic Benny, sia suka oh) on your wedding day and seeing all my cousins there… sia jeles.. sia jeles because i wasn’t there to celebrate your wedding. i wish i was there ( beribu kali sudah sia cakap ni di facebook, LOL) but anyway, i hope to see you JULY …jangan dulu preggy kama susah nanti mau pi sdk sama kami…LOL!

Ok la, now back to my story… Last saturday i celebrated my birthday party ( early birthday party) at Laundry the Curve. It wasn’t anything grand but just a simple get together party although it somehow feel like it’s Dan’s birthday party more than mine.I think out of 20 people only 5 was my circle of friend..But it’s not that i don’t know any of them , so i guess that’s counted as my friend too…

We started with dinner at Laundry till 11pm and then head on to Red box till 4am singing our lungs out… it was fun nite..nothing crazy..no one was drunk like mad..no vomitting, no crawling… just what i wanted it to be After that we head on to mamak for some supper@ breakfast… usual malaysian lifestyle. We reached home at 5:30am

I am sure this won’t be my last birthday party for this year i know there will be another one coming up real soon… LOL! This time… its Family and cousins time celebration! Wahahahaha…

It’s been nearly a year now since the day that i was pissed drunk. Yup, that was last year while i celebrated my birthday in Poppi Garden,KL.

This year im gonna celebrate my birthday again..Im not sure what i want to do yet, but definietly not clubbing . I want it to be easy birthday celebration this year and with that said… i definietly do not want to be PISSED DRUNK!

I am thinking to do it at the Curve  area. Exactly where and what time…i haven’t decided yet. Should i do it at the laundry or karaoke-ing im not so sure too.. i guess it depends on who will be available this year.

So to all my Gym friends and Blogger friends, if you are free on the 9th May Saturday..please come and join me at the Curve.

It’s nothing extravanganza kinda birthday party..but it’s just to meet up with you all whom i have not met for ages/months/weeks/days or even hours… i just want to catch up with you again.

Apa ba Blue Cross North Carolina ni ?  Macam ngam betul with my blog post today ni..kalau siapa ja mabuk that nite… we should call that company mentioned above kan? Macam St John ambulance pula sia rasa…LOL!

You’ll need:

Medium/Large size fish – Any type of fish(i love Garupa fish so im using garupa here) Ginger, Garlic, soy sauce and cooking Oil.

Slice the garlic and ginger- thinly.

How to cook:

Heat the cooking oil in a deep wok. Once the cooking oil is ready…put in the fish for deep frying. Fry the fish until it turn golden brown color and set aside. Please set your fire on medium heat.

After that, take another frying pan..heat it up and use the remaining fish oil from the other wok to fry your ginger and garlic together- This should not take too long… again please medium heat only..garlic cook really fast..you would not want the garlic to be burned…pahit la!

Once your garlic and ginger turn golden brown..pour oil (the one you used to cook the garlic and ginger) ginger and garlic on the fish then add soy sauce. Walaa… you have your deep fried fish with soy sauce.

Yea, this is the first thing you need to do..Deep fry the fish ok i know my wok isn’t the best looking wok..but hey, it did the job very well

This is how you want your fish to look like..golden brown not burned.

Cook the garlic and ginger together… using the fish oil earlier on.

Then you serve it this way…. again..my pic is not the best looking pic ever ( not that i ever took nice pic anyway,LOL!) so please excuse me ok…but you get the drill kan??

P/s: If you are afraid of oil…as in..you are on diet…hehehe this is definitely not your kind of food..but if you don’t try it..you dont know what you are missinggggggggggg

Bah, happy cooking peeps

Im so sleepy now..but i decided not to go back to bed and sleep. I dont want to wake up and feeling sluggish pula nanti.

So tomorrow is already a Valentine day, any major plan with your loved one? Me and Dan have nothing in plan..my valentine gift was the Rihanna concert but postponed at the very last minute..dang it!  So now we have nothing in plan…but hey at least he is here with me and im not spending my valentine all alone

Anyhow, here’s something for you to do for your loved one on Valentine day (if you are like me, plan A inda menjadi and have no plan B in hand) cook for your loved one . Just something simple and nice, im sure your partner will be happy that you cook for them.

This is one of my fav dish..

BEEF WITH OYSTER SAUCE.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch(cornflour)

125 ml (4fl oz or 1/2 cup ) beef stock

2 tablespoon oyster sauce

1 teaspoon finely chopped garlic

oil for cooking

350g rump steak thinly sliced

250g beans, chopped around 5cm length

1 small red capsicum, sliced

60g bean sprout (optional, i didn’t use this one on my cooking normally)

Method:

1.Dissolve the cornflour with a bit of the beef stock water. Mix the remaining stock,oyster sauce, garlic and sugar -set aside.

2.Heat the wok, add 1 tablespoon oil and swirl around to coat the side. Add the beef in batches and stir fry over medium heat fro 2 min or until brown.

3. Return all beef to wok. Add the beans and capsicum, stir fry for another minute.

4.Add cornflour and remaining stock to the wok . Cook until the sauce boils nad thickens. Stir in bean sprout and serve immediately.

It looks like that after you masak. It will only take you less than 30 min to prepare this

OK i only give you one dish here,LOL!  The rest u kena cari sendiri …:P

As for your desert, buy ice cream

Deco your dining table nicely with placemat, candles and maybe few batang of red rose and done,walaaaa.

And oh, don’t forget one bottle of red wine or white zinfandel.
